Dear Squib Skippers and Crew
2024 was not a great year for attendance .As usual the highlight of our year was the Malaysian Squib Nationals in June 9 boats participated under Race Officer Simon James with good competition , eventually Commodore Jeremy emerged as the winner narrowly holding off Justin in Rama Lady VG .Finishing order set out on the attached
For the River Series overall and divided into 3 ,support was patchy out of our now 18 boats 12 boats participated in one or more races , some of usually dependable participants founder Rama in Lady VG and Rainer in Kittiwich did not participate as regularly the Commodore unable to travelfor health reasons sailed almost every weekend and took first and second places with Cabaret 7 and Wombat Wombat winning with a margin of 3 ,third was Rainer in Kittiwich
This year we have high hopes for better participation Evan who joined PSC last year sailed new arrival Emily really well and new member owner Thomas Foeller who has bought Jerry showed great promise in his first race , John Kara in Skybird 2 sadly returning to UK in May has emerged the one to beat , Rainer is reflooring Kittiwich whilst temporary acting as Super Crew , Peter van Acker has sailed the chartered Peach 2 a number of times with Jamaica as crew but dirty boats cannot compete , What has happened to MJ and Recaa 2 ,Yasid/Gavin in Ratatosk also Alyson in Zomark ? hopefully our founder Rama will find time from his duties as Commodore of RSYC to join some racing too , the Sea Scouts have chartered Buck Up and will hopefully become more active participants
Come and have fun Squib sailing ,as One Designs boats all are equal and we all have more fun competing
The Nationals are scheduled for 13,14 and 15 June with Simon James as Race Officer , to sail well you must practice
The Commodore acquired Quicksilver with a view to have more boats to charter with Second Wind and Alice kindly loaned by Vice Commodore Jega , John and Tricia Kara have started the SKYBIRD series once a month super Sunday and we can provide food too
